Brickwork

Upon arrival, one of the first impressions we had of Cairo was seeing the monotone colour of every single building in the city. It appeared to be a hazy brown tinge which we've soon learnt is the colour of the dust.

Understandably therefore, there is little attention paid to the exterior of buildings, who would if it got so dirty so quickly? Below is just a close up of some brickwork that was taken from the window of our flat.
