Invitation Email

As you may, or may not, be aware, Joanna and I are planning on travelling to Cairo. We are hoping to be volunteers with CMS for the twelve months we are there. A brief summary of our plans is to work alongside the existing Episcopal church sponsored ministries, with a particular focus to refugees in Cairo.

Though I would prefer not to send group emails, it is an efficient way to contact a large number of people. As I currently work in an e-commerce team, I'm particularly aware of the need to be sensitive and responsible in how emails are used. To that end, I've set up a Yahoo! group for group emails. Using the industry lingo, this means you can 'opt in' to receive emails. (And, if the emails are boring, uninteresting, or annoying, you can also opt out.)

I intend to write approximately every month, though realistically, I may get carried away at the beginning as we experience the majority of our adjusting. ie write a little more often. Hopefully the emails will be interesting, not too long and describe our daily lives and challenges as we adjust to Cairo. We will also include some prayer points for those of you willing to support us in this way.

This email therefore, is the invitation to sign up to our group, so that you can be kept informed, via email, about our time in Cairo. You can either sign up to be a member, or simply be added to the list to receive emails. After you have signed up, you will receive another email with more information about what we are doing.

One last plug, we are planning an information night for our friends and family which you are invited to.
